Automated STB breakout station
The STB automated breakout station breaks up the sheets or downstream cuts of incised float or ornamental glass with high edge quality in precise synchronisation with the cycle, thus ensuring a continuous flow of glass on the cutting line. In conjunction with the breakout controller, material-friendly counterforce bars or suction fixation are used to achieve professional positioning, which is essential for optimal breakout action. To satisfy the highest standards, the STB breakout station is also available with electric motor drive technology. Precise, controlled motion leads to faster cycles while delivering the same high quality.
X/Y/Z glass-breakouts in a line
For even more automation and fully automated handling when breaking out glass, you can combine several breakout stations using corner transfers or a strip rotation station. Depending on the line layout, X/Y and Z cuts are broken out without an operator. The breakout display and optional HEGLA-HANIC Cockpit provide information on processing progress, the planned parking position or remaining manual breaks.
Features
- Automatic breakout station for float glass and ornamental glass
- High edge quality, thanks to automated, precisely coordinated processes
- Special, non-destructive counterforce bar or a positioning suction device for professional positioning
- Blow-out device for removing very small residues
- Even higher edge quality and controlled motion with optional breakout bar drives with electric motors
- Can be configured as an X-only breakout station or with additional breakout stations as an X/Y/Z breakout solution
- Can be fully networked and automated with HEGLA cutting systems
- Optional with moving counterforce bar for breaking out head and tail trim or trim cuts
Functional description
The feeding table positions the glass sheet or pane that needs to be broken out exactly above the breakout bar using sensor recognition. The counterforce bars or – for thinner pieces of glass, the suction device – hold the glass in place; the glass is then separated by the breakout bar. The panes are transported out of the station immediately. Depending on the optional equipment, any remaining residue can be moved into a shard container below the STB using a folding frame or similar tool.
To avoid surface damage and maintain consistently high quality, a blow-off device removes any residue from the breakout bar once the breakout process is complete.
As an option, the STB II static breakout station can be equipped with a moving counterforce bar that can be used to break out the head or tail trim.
