Gantry loading system
The PBK automatic gantry loading system continuously supplies one or more cutting lines with the panes from the glass warehouse in precise synchronisation with the cycle. Depending on the configuration, the compact suction cup frame accesses A/L racks, automatic compact storage system or internal loading racks (optional). High levels of safety and glass quality are guaranteed by HEGLA’s established removal process, in which the glass sheet is peeled off the bottom of the stack before being lifted. The optional automatic stacking system offers even greater convenience and productivity, using stand-by times to transfer the raw glass automatically from internal loading racks or other storage systems to the warehouse.
Features
- Fully automated glass loading system for one or more cutting lines
- Peeling technology works from below for fast and safe glass removal that protects the material
- Designed for a wide variety of types and large stock quantities
- Flexible glass removal from A/L/internal loader racks, compact storage systems and the Rapidstore, depending on equipment
- Suction cup frame with three, five or seven self-activating suction cups, depending on glass size
- Swivelling suction cup frame for combing or frontal depositing of the glass sheet Suction frame inclination and stroke set automatically
- Fully networked and automatable with HEGLA cutting systems and automatic compact storage systems
- Can be integrated into and adapted to suit many storage and cutting systems
- Designed for loading on crane rails, as semi or full gantry
Functional description
In order to ensure a continuous flow of materials, the necessary glass is requested by either the cutting system, the production control system or a manual command issued by the operator, depending on the configuration and automation. The gantry loading unit and its suction cup frame then move to the storage space in question. The suction cups latch onto the pane and, using HEGLA’s established peeling technique for surface protection and safe glass removal, separate it slightly from the underside of the subsequent sheets. The pane is then lifted, transported through the warehouse and, in precise synchronisation with the cycle, transferred to a tilting support table with a connection to the cutting system. The glass can be deposited either by setting it down from above or using “combing” to protect coated panes, i.e. by lowering the suction frame into the table with the coating side facing upwards.
