STB automatic breakout station

The STB automatic breakout station breaks up the sheets or subsequent cuts of the scored float or ornamental glass with high edge quality in precise cycles, thus maintaining a continuous flow of glass on the cutting line. In combination with the breakout controller, counterforce bars and suction fixation are used to achieve correct positioning, which saves on materials and is essential for ensuring optimum breaking action. The STB is also available with electric motor drive technology to help you satisfy even the strictest requirements. Exact, controlled movements lead to faster cycles while retaining the same high quality.

Functional description

The feed table positions the glass sheet or pane that needs to be broken exactly above the break bar using sensor recognition. The counterforce bars or – for thinner pieces of glass – the suction cups hold the glass in place; the glass is then separated by the break bar. The panes are transported out of the station immediately. Depending on the optional equipment, any remaining residue can be moved into a shard container below the STB using a folding frame or similar tool.

To avoid surface damage and maintain consistently high quality, a blow-off device removes any residue from the break bar once the breaking process is complete.

As an option, the STB II static breakout station can be equipped with a moving counterforce bar that can be used to break up the head or tail trim.
