On 1 August 2019, the ground-breaking ceremony was held for the new HEGLA production site in Stockbridge, Henry County, Georgia (USA). In a jovial, buoyant atmosphere, the representatives of the LEWAG Holding AG Executive Board, Jochen Hesselbach, Frank Schürmann, and Andreas Wiegran, HEGLA Group CEO Bernhard Hötger, and HEGLA Corp. CEO Elmar Zeidler laid the cornerstone of the new production site while Mayor Anthony Ford, the entire HEGLA Corp. team, and other officials and people involved in the project looked on.

Expertise in glass and laser applications: Newly founded HEGLA boraident secures jobs and know-how in Halle (Saale)

Following a very brief period of insolvency after the company fell into financial difficulties, the 17 employees of boraident in Halle an der Saale (Saxony-Anhalt, Germany) can breathe a sigh of relief. The HEGLA Group, headquartered in Beverungen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany (with approx. 550 employees worldwide), is taking over the site on 5th October, 2017. 40 years of HEGLA from toolmaking workshop to globally recognised specialist supplier

750 guests accepted the invitation of the Beverungen-based HEGLA Group to attend their 40th birthday celebrations in the Stadthalle in Beverungen. A further reason for celebration was that the anniversary year had been the most successful in the company’s history, with a turnover of 70 million. “This gave the Board of Directors even more reason to say thank you to employees and their partners by inviting them to share what was a resoundingly successful evening”, said Manfred Vollbracht, Managing Director. Several prominent personalities and supporters were also on the guest list.

Window profiles compactly stored for every customer requirement

A compact storage system can contribute to fast and flexible processing of customer requirements when it comes to window construction. Because with new profiles, more colours and different systems, it has become more challenging to meet all the needs of building developers promptly and to their complete satisfaction. Not only have demands on the visual properties of windows increased, but double-insulating glass, triple-insulating glass and the increasing share held by laminated glass are also making themselves felt in ever more individual orders. It is easiest for the window manufacturer if the customer chooses a profile and colour combination that is available and quickly accessible. It becomes more complex if the requested material has to be ordered or if it is only possible to determine whether it is still available in the warehouse by re-stacking and sorting. If the requested profile is then still in an external warehouse, the material can only be processed after a warm-up period, which may depend on the season.
