HEGLA Fahrzeugbau offers top industry vehicles at the Fensterbau Frontale

Regardless of a new trade fair date, the vehicle special "Fensterbau Frontale-Edition" will be available from 18.3.2020. Digitalisation and automation may currently be the focus in the glass and window industry, but at the end of every production run, the glass and structural elements still have to be delivered to clients safely, efficiently and in an operator-friendly manner. HEGLA, Germany’s market leader for such transport attachments, will present both an industry vehicle for a special price and a transporter specifically developed for urban transport at the upcoming Fensterbau Frontale in Nuremberg. “We are already looking forward to presenting our industry innovations at the trade fair,” said HEGLA Fahrzeugbau Managing Director Hans-Peter Löhner.

HEGLA bids farewell to retirees and honours longstanding employees

The yearly event held to honour longstanding employees and say farewell to staff entering their well-earned retirement is always a highlight of the HEGLA calendar. “People who stay at one company for so long are becoming such a rarity,” HEGLA’s Managing Director, Bernhard Hötger, was keen to point out during the celebrations. “All of you have been contributing to the success of HEGLA for decades now, enriching our team with your personalities. For that I want to thank you – on behalf of the management, the Board, and all of our colleagues.”

Custom laser glass finishing

Laser finishing can be used to produce custom, functional and decorative glass products. The trend towards new applications in this segment has not been driven exclusively by technological progress. In fact, the development has far more to do with changes in customer demand and the more general feasibility of options for generating greater added value.

Three times the expertise: The HEGLA Group focuses on performance in its exhibition at Vitrum

Under the trade fair slogan “Three times the expertise”, the HEGLA Group presentation at Vitrum 2019 in Milan will focus on solutions for the increasingly complex requirements for machine performance, digitalisation, and laser-supported product tracking and finishing. This focal area also represents the Group’s aims of continuous further development and growth. Alongside HEGLA Maschinenbau, the Group has now been home to HEGLA-HANIC, the software company, and the laser application specialist HEGLA boraident for almost one year. “Vitrum 2019 marks our first time exhibiting as a group, and each of our companies can benefit from the additional expertise of the others’ specialisms,” said HEGLA Managing Director Bernhard Hötger. “We also have some innovations and advanced developments to show and are looking forward to the trade fair with confidence.”

Transporting Heavy Loads Easily and Professionally

Despite all the progress of digitalisation, at the end of every manufacturing process, the IG units, structural elements, or pieces of glass still have to be shipped, safely and efficiently, to their destination. And the options available for logistics are just as varied as the requirements for transporting these typically heavy, bulky goods. According to Managing Director Hans-Peter Löhner from HEGLA Fahrzeugbau, not too long ago vehicles in the sector were typically only equipped with an external rack: “Companies that require more flexibility, additional loading positions, and want to impress their customers with an optimally organised vehicle can use additional fittings to customise their delivery vehicle to their specific needs.”

High tech from Kretzschau is popular around the world

German mechanical engineering is prized worldwide for its quality and innovative strength. But although the companies in question often have unique products and services at their disposal, their importance is generally barely perceived by the public. This is no different at HEGLA Maschinenbau in Kretzschau, which – with more than 70 employees – enjoys a good international reputation and has already exported to almost every country in the world.

40 years of HEGLA from toolmaking workshop to globally recognised specialist supplier

750 guests accepted the invitation of the Beverungen-based HEGLA Group to attend their 40th birthday celebrations in the Stadthalle in Beverungen. A further reason for celebration was that the anniversary year had been the most successful in the company’s history, with a turnover of 70 million. “This gave the Board of Directors even more reason to say thank you to employees and their partners by inviting them to share what was a resoundingly successful evening”, said Manfred Vollbracht, Managing Director. Several prominent personalities and supporters were also on the guest list.

Underestimated opportunities: City vans as express service and delivery vehicles

They are agile, small and can be used anywhere. While larger commercial vehicles with total weights of up to 3.5 tonnes have grown to be the vehicles of choice for service trips and deliveries of glass, windows and structural elements, smaller city vans have untapped potential. Unjustly, as Hans-Peter Löhner, Managing Director of HEGLA Fahrzeugbau with locations in Satteldorf, Beverungen and Kretzschau, believes. “Whether it’s a drive to the post office in the morning and express service to a customer in the afternoon, small city vans offer a familiar size and flexible options for everyday use in comparison to considerably larger box-type trucks,” said Mr Löhner. Almost everyone has a licence for this type of vehicle and even in congested inner-city traffic, they are easy to drive.

Successful niche products “Made in Satteldorf”

You don’t need a mass market to be successful. A perfect example of this is HEGLA, the company with a centre of excellence for special vehicle attachments in Satteldorf (Schwäbisch Hall, Germany). People who don’t have anything to do with glass, windows or structural elements professionally will probably not recognise the company, which was established in Beverungen in North Rhein-Palatinate in 1976, although the company is the market leader in the sector for vehicle attachments for glass and window transport.
